Sprint Mogul Phone aka HTC PPC-6800 (Titan) - pjiang -

與 PPC-6700 （圖左）相比，6800 顯得 "rounded"，稍小一點，且鍵盤開向不一樣。其插卡，由 Mini SD 變成了 Micro SD。Stylus 的插槽也緊多了。而以前的對策是在 Stylus 上貼膠帶，或掰彎以防滑出。盡管如此，以前的 Stylus 也不知去向了。Anyway, HTC is listening.

除了內存的增擴，6800 的最大改進是添加了 GPS 功能。這個 GPS 功能，不象 VX6700 從 Cell Tower 獲得一個位置，而是實實在在有內置的芯片，與 wireless service 是分開的。
加上已有的 EVDO, Bluetooth，Wifi, 暫時還想不起來有什麽缺的，對於 PPC-6800 來說。

拿到了一個新的 gadget，不 Hack 一下，或者 Mod 它，心裏總是癢癢的，有物不盡其用之感。

而準備工作，有三：

1) Total Commander v2.5
   相當於 Windows Explorer，但功能甚強

Launch CE -> Show -> Single window mode -> Virtual 2 window mode -> ok

2) PHM Registry Editor v0.70
   相當於 RegEdit，Hack 必備

3) WM5torage v1.8
   把 Storage Card 變成 USB Jump Drive (So you don't have to use ActiveSync all the time)
沒有插卡時一定不要運行程序（補救法是重新安裝 WM5torage）

安裝方法是：
1) 把上麵下載的 .cab 文件直接拷至手機 (ActiveSync) 或 Storage Card (Card Reader/Writer Device)
2) 用 WM6 自帶的 File Explorer, 找到 .cab 文件，雙點之即開始 install，提示結束後點 "ok" （有的程序要 reset - Power 鍵不是reset, 是 standby）

做的第一個 mod 就是把右上角的綠色的 LED 閉掉了。
HKLM > Drivers > BuiltIn > AllLEDMgr > Index ("1" -> "0")

Supporting multiple windows in browser - Tab

Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Misc -> Use grab and scroll
If it is checked, you may use finger to scroll the page in Page_Text_View_Area, not only on scroll bar - Mac style.
You will have to uncheck it so you may select page text for copy etc.

Chinese characters

There used to be S/N: O58N99FYDS3O-AGSD (All letter O, No number 0) registered under Kenneth for v2.8 R2.
Get rid of \\ Windows \\ Startup \\ DynaNls.lnk so "中" does not show up in right bottom corner.
將中文界麵換回英文界麵, Start -> Setting -> System -> Regional Settings -> Region, change "PRC" to "Englisg US", then reboot.
Non registered version may limit your input of Chinese character, which is not my concern.

As for GPS function, following SW are compatible with PPC-6800
1) Garmin Mobile XT 4.20.50wp - Like UI but no TTS
2) Google Maps (You need data plan)
   If you out of contract, Sprint SERO may be good for you.
3) iGo 2006
4) iGuidance v4 - Poor Menu Interface
5) TomTom Navigator v6

Mogul 的 GPS 需要＂打開＂才能被程序識別，但是在 iGuidance 和 GoogleMaps 而言不是必需。
Open GPS 的小程序有很多，用過的有：

1. bafgpsv01t.exe (More Info) 第一次用的時候，會問你一個時間（答 20 秒）和 GPS application 的路徑。然後這些 information 存在 \\bafgpsv01t.txt 中。 以後點 bafgpsv01t.exe 的時候，就會先打開 GPS 後自動去調 GPS 程序。20 秒的時間是指 bafgpsv01t.exe 在 20 秒後關閉。
   適用於隻安裝了一種 GPS 軟件。(Memory/.net)
   
   
2. gpslauncher.exe (More Info)
   毋須安裝。運行時可讀 \\\gpslaunch.ini.
   適用於 GPS Application 運行中 GPS 信號中斷後的重啟。
   
   
3. AstroGPSLauncher.cab (More Info)
   在安裝之後，需要先對應 GPS 程序生成一個 shortcut 來調用。如 "AstroGPSLauncher\\AstroGPSLauncher.exe" \Program Files\
   可對應不同 GPS 軟件分別設置，但 icon 同。
   如果不想手動 shortcut，可以用 SK Shortcut Manager 1.0.6 (14 days trial).
   

Mogul 的 COM Port是 4，Baud Rate "4800".
