Everybody Loves Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi access has reached iPod popularity, according to a study conducted by the Wi-Fi Alliance and Kelton Research.

Analysis shows that 80 percent of those polled said that they would give up their iPod before their home wireless network, the alliance said.

Similarly, when Americans were asked which they would rather give up, their home telephone or Wi-Fi, 79 percent responded that they would rather live without a home phone.

In addition, a majority of those asked, 55 percent, said that they worked from home two to three times per week. Often, those polled said they work in the kitchen, living room, or even in a public space such as a coffee shop or bookstore, as opposed to in a traditional home office space.

The survey was conducted online between June 26 to 30, and included 551 Americans.
