應該在“文學城”加設“我的家鄉”論壇，讓老鄉們敘家鄉舊情，談故地新聞。親不親，故鄉人。其下設各省，市分壇。各有其名。北京壇叫“皇城腳下”，或“有胡同的堵城”。上海壇叫“浦江兩岸”，或“浦東就是上海”。天津壇叫“渤海之星”，或“木匠政協主席的搖籃”。[閱讀全文]

北京城是正南正北的棋盤式布局，街道方向性很強。北京人充分利用了這一優勢，走到哪裏都知道方向。北京是京城，有那許多美麗壯觀的城樓，過去沒高樓時老遠就看的到，自然成了地標。老北京人為人指路時習慣用方向和標誌性建築定位。諸如“從這兒向東，往前門走就到了。”

有人抱怨北京把全中國的好事都搶來了，成了各行各業的中心。北京人不會讓出這些中心的，也不會同意遷都，沒了這些中心，不是首都了，北京人的自豪感就沒了。
其實北京的多中心都不是搶來的。過去中國窮，北京是窗口，許多中心就建在北京了，好給外國人看呀。中央當官的住北京，當然也希望好東西在家門口了。中國也還是一個極權國家，皇城自然應是最好的。另[閱讀全文]

北京老城裏東西向的街道多叫胡同，南北向的多叫街。老北京城裏胡同遠遠多於街。為何那？是因為北京主要民宅的四和院多座北朝南，為求朝向好。因此，北京城裏南北向的路很少，舉一例，從王府井到東單中間沒一條南北向的路。在任何西方大城市裏，這段距離，會有幾條街了。北京的胡同也不是走車的，拆了一些胡同修了車道，但密度還是不夠。也不能把胡同都拆了。[閱讀全文]
