Thus, the Embassy advises visitors from the United States to arrive with an appropriate negative test result, which also must include a QR code. Travelers should contact the Egyptian Embassy in the United States to obtain the latest requirements related to proof of health insurance and pre-travel testing. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

FRANCE
The United States is now on the country’s “red” list. Vaccinated Americans may enter with proof of a negative P.C.R. or antigen test taken within 48 hours of departure and do not need to quarantine. They may be subject to random testing on arrival. For entry purposes, France accepts C.D.C. vaccination cards. Unvaccinated U.S. travelers may not enter the country unless they have proof of a “compelling” reason. They must also present a negative Covid-19 pretest, take a subsequent test on arrival, and complete a 10-day quarantine, during which they will be checked on by security forces.
Proof of vaccination is required for restaurants, hotels, long-distance transportation and cultural venues in the form of the Pass Sanitaire, the country’s health pass. U.S. visitors can apply for the local digital health pass at designated pharmacies, for a fee of up to 36 euros. Though there are reports of C.D.C. cards being accepted in many places, it is not a guarantee. As of late December, nightclubs across France were closed; standing service was banned in bars and cafes; and the consumption of food and drink was forbidden on transport services and in concert halls, sporting events and movie theaters. As of Jan. 3, everyone 6 and older is required to wear a mask in most public spaces, including stores and museums, as well as on all forms of public transportation.
As of Dec. 15, those 65 and older who are eligible for a booster shot must show proof of having gotten the shot to receive a health pass. This measure will be extended to all French residents between 18 and 65 starting Jan. 15, a requirement that is likely to apply to tourists as well, according to a spokeswoman for Atout France, the country’s tourism board — though the government has not yet announced it. Those who are unvaccinated must provide a compelling reason for their visit to French Polynesia.
