十月底去約旦 AA 75K Qatar flights。

MIA-DOH-AMM identical flights 付現金的話，QR wants $3860  你可以 在 QR 官網同步duplicate 這個 itinerary.  Google flight 用 Miami - Amman 也會 show 這個 option.

可以用 Royal Jordanian 直飛 但我不要，因為 Qatar 的 QSuite 比 RJ 的商務好非常多。 QR 的可以説比 有些航司的頭等艙還要好。

而且 我們想重訪 Qatar 在 Doha 的 lounges.  先生的 Favorite lounges 之一。 其它的是 Cathay Pacific 在香港的，Turkish airlines 的在伊斯坦布爾，Virgin Atlantic 的在倫敦。Flying premium cabin 的 benefits include airline lounge access。除了休息 吃喝之外，能夠在飛長途之前和之後有一個舒適的淋浴對消除長途旅程的疲憊非常有用。所以這個福利也要考慮進去。那些priority check in/ boarding 之類 就不用提了。 
 

但是如果是用 mikes 來 redeem coach 的話 絕大部分時間是完全浪費了 miles.  反而有時短程的 last minutes 需要的，可以 justify, either the cash ticket is quite expensive, or the flexibility of mileage ticket is desirable.

酒店同理。我在 Cairo 都是用 Marriott 的 點數.  以金字塔為背景的，很多曆史人物住過的 Mena House 我訂的時候是 28K. Cash 連稅是$500+  市中心尼羅河畔的 St Regis, 是 近五百尺的房間，35K, Cash 連稅也是 $500+.  從 Luxor 回到 Cairo, 我有一張 Chase IHG credit card 的 capped at 40 K 的 annual free night cert 要在十二月底前用掉。剛好在 St. Regis 南邊大概半個 km，就在尼羅河橋邊的 InterContinental 是 40K, 正好在那兒用掉它 。 這個信用卡年費 $49， 去年還給了一個 $50 的 retention offer.  這個 IC 連稅後 $250+。

所以上麵的redemption 不能説是不痛不癢吧？  主要是看你如何用。 應該超過一半以上的情形是極其化算的。
