Friendly suggestion - next time DONT carry any fruits

You were lucky that the guy did not order you to open the trunk. Dont test your luck in the future.

Each single time we passed thru Canada/US border, except one time between New Brunswick and Main - Everytime our car was searched - either a thorough search or a quick search - but each time the Custom Officer went thru the stuff at the backseats and went thru the trunk. During the thorough search they even examine the inside roof of the car.

We never carry any restricted food items with us, not worth it.
