Megan Sullivan had just gone through a string of bad luck when she decided to go on the adventure of a lifetime.
It all started with a 15-metre fall when she was in Yosemite Valley training to climb the Nose route on El Capitan. Falling from more than 600 metres had her questioning herself and her ambitious climbing goals.
A week later, Sullivan was riding her Vespa when she was struck by a car and diagnosed with skin cancer during a routine check-up. Within three weeks, Sullivan had been presented with what she called “the trifecta of bad luck.”
Her friends and family joked she should live in a bubble, but Sullivan decided against throwing herself a pity party. Within two weeks of the unexpected events, she decided to go on a 13-day trip to see the New7Wonders of the World.
