I asked a lady at an office, "Parlez vous Englais, S'il Vous Plait?" She immediately said, Yes, I speak English, how can I help you?

The other time I handed a piece of paper to the guy at the Metro window, for buying the weekly pass Carte Orange (I couldn't pronounce the word weekly, too complicated starting with H). He said to me in English, "Do you have photo?"

These days, many French speak English and are willing to talk to you in English.

There are many advertisements inside the metro cars about English classes. Finally they realize this is a global economy and English is the global language.
