Interesting post and beautiful photos that

has brought back memories of Suzhou.  I went to college there and liked 得月樓, where several classmates and I were treated to a nice dinner by our American professors who let me order the expensive天下第一菜, and was criticized by my classmates saying I was wasting the professors' money by ordering 米飯鍋巴加番茄醬！But our professors told me they were really happy I ordered it since now we could tell people we all tried this popular dish.  When I meet with my professors these days, they are living in a beautiful retirement community now in Claremont, I'm sure Dan Bai Er can take more wonderful photos there too, we would eat in a Chinese restaurant nearby and one of our favorite dish is still the sizzling plate: shrimp with tomato sauce and rice pancakes!  Time flies and the world is getting smaller!
