Day 9: Going back to San Jose
As usual breakfast buffet started at 7am. There were still some time left after breakfast so we went on a little walk around the hotel grounds, feeling a little sad to leave this beautiful place behind.
When approaching a gazebo, we saw some people gather around a folding table, and everyone were looking below the table, so we went over and looked too. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a sloth holding onto the bars under the table, and he was awake, looking around at us with a smiling face. It was so cute!!! We had looked so hard for sloths in the past week, and now we got one right in front of our eyes. It was unbelievable!
1. A sloth just waking up from its sleep.
2. Looking around.
3. Looking around.
4. Is it cute?
5. Does this spider web look like a map?
We left Tortuguero at 9am by boat. Got to this dock at 9:50am. Waited around for about an hour for the buses which brought new people in for the park. The buses took us to Gauplies, where we had lunch. Then some people were picked up by their arranged transportation to go to other places. We continued with the buses to go back to San Jose for our flight home the next morning.
Day 10: Going home
We had to pay $28/person airport tax before we were allowed to stand in Delta's check in line. I asked the girl if they took credit card, she said yes, so I paid with my credit card even though I had the cash at the time (I like to use credit card at credible places since it helps me to track where I spend money on vacation). Later after I got back to the U.S. I was surprised to find out that they treated this transaction as a cash advance, and I was charged for a $10 fee. This had never happened to me before, and I think it is really sneaky so I called my credit card company to complain about it, they waived the fee without too much fuss.
(The End)
P.S. $1 was about 500 Costa Rican Colones in Dec 2012.
