ruby和pink sapphire還有orange sapphire按GIA標準是有界線的，因為顏色是很personal的，每個人的認識不同，GIA是用比色石來客觀鑒定。理論上的definition是from orange red to purplish red, red should be the primary color hue。pink sapphire是red to purplish red in light tone. that's the reason i consider the stone below as a pink sapphire。

Burmese ruby並不是都有flouresence，隻有富含chromium的有，也隻限於某個mine，產量已非常低，90年代緬甸新發現的礦幾乎都需要heated。
