Most locals round up the bill to the closest full figure.  Custom is to tell the wait staff how much you prepare to pay because their payment process system is to bring a hand-held device to the table then enter the FINAL amount - there is no additional line to add tips, unlike in North America.  This has been our experiences thru out Europe from the Baltics to the Southern Europe.

The round up figures usually are about 5% tips.  Seems are accepted custom everywhere we dined.

Almost all European countries operate in this way, except in Rome very touristy districts then the restaurants expect American and Asian tourists to tip.  Dont subcum to such pressure!
