There is some advantage to take option 2. One your way back, you can go thru Kelowna/Okanagan area and pass-by North Cascades NP as well. Those are also beautiful place. And it won't feel a lot of drive if you ever drove from NY to FL.
For your reference, here was my family's route: Seattle -> Mt Rainier -> Olympic NP -> Victoria -> Vancouver -> Yoho/Jasper/Banff -> Kelowna/Okanagan -> North Cascades NP -> Boeing -> Seattle.
Be watchful while driving inside Jasper there are many animal crossings. My car got hit by a cougar there.
