【專輯介紹】:

The meeting between ERA and Arielle Dombasle is an exciting musical event. Through their passion for enigmatic music and mystical raptures. They deliver here an album of rare strength, mixing resonances sacred and classic themes now popularized ("Ave Maria" Adagio "Barber" 5th Symphony "Mahler ...) with the most innovative sounds. The "Ave Maria" by Gounod becomes the occasion for the most up tempo removed and this inspired selection of prayers and hymns as mythological, and the first single will be working for the release of this new project.

Cold Song is an exceptional track that stands out. Originally from Henry Purcell’s semi-opera King Arthur, this song was one of Arielle’s stage repertoire pieces at Crazy Horse. For Eric Levi, it’s one of his few entirely new compositions, and the majestic, powerful choral work perfectly aligns with the direction eRa fans crave. Its surreal atmosphere and sound made me personally think it’s reminiscent of Ameno.

Next in line is Sins, a bold arrangement of Allegri’s Miserere. The way they’ve remixed it with an unabashedly 90s Enigma-style beat left me speechless. It seems there’s no lingering resentment from the time Michael Cretu called this style "bullshit." The opening chorus appears to be a sample from The Mass’s Don’t Go Away, but it feels fresh enough to consider it a new track.

Ave Maria, which was also released as a single, is an arrangement based on Charles Gounod’s Ave Maria over Bach’s Prelude No. 1. Eric Levi’s signature variations and drum sections create a brilliant piece. While Gounod’s arrangement was based on Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Levi had already arranged the same piece in his album era Classics under the title A Brand New Day.

Similarly, Just Close Your Eyes is another new track inspired by Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto in F minor, BWV 1056, known for its Arioso theme. Here, Arielle sings in English with a pop sensibility, accompanied by a gospel-like chorus. The song evokes a sense of nostalgia for the 2000s, reminiscent of Sweetbox.

Don’t Take My Pleasure of My Pain is an arrangement of Maurice Duruflé’s Missa Cum Jubilo for male chorus and orchestra. This track, too, has a strong nostalgic feel, reminiscent of the New Age trance music that was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s. During that time, Enigma and eRa were at their peak, and many artists tried to blend religious music with electronic sounds. Some artists, like the group Amoure, excelled in this genre.
