數學一般的普娃能學工程專業嗎

家有普娃男孩，數學成績中等，動手能力倒是極佳，coding 水平中等偏上。考慮州內大公校North Carolina state university 的computer engineering 專業或者UNC-chapel hill的CS專業，前者的話專業倒是孩子喜歡的，但是他數學一般，不知道是不是真的適合他？後者要到入學第二年再申請才能確定專業。來請教一下大家怎麽看待這兩個選擇？
