Don't have the time for a rant on this - but ... This country HAS ALWAYS had a large number of the population that owned guns, hunting, target shooting, self-protection - whatever. - This was true back in the '50's - "the change" started back in the '60's and has snowballed since then. - There are a HUGE number of boys & young men that have NEVER had an adult male in their lives on a daily basis - like REAL fathers. - Look at our inner cities, more people killed in places like Chicago than a actual combat zone.

Many of todays young men don't know how to fix a flat tire or fix a leaky faucet - and IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT. - Their "single/divorced mom" isn't about to show them those things. - Many are lost/confused and/or angry - and don't even know why - they "just are". 
. 
Watch almost ANY commercial on TV - if a man is involved in it - he's portrayed as a bumbling fool at best - and this is supposed to be humorous. - It's been this way for decades now - freaking "reap what you sow" ... and we are. 
. 
I'm one of the oldest posters on the board - and I clearly remember when this wasn't the case & we didn't have mass shootings - and there was certainly NO SHORTAGE of guns. - The government & the media have done their best to take "the father out of the picture" - and we now have the results. 
. 
This is a mid-term election year & calls for "gun control" will be louder than ever - and probably successful. - There are most likely over 100,000 gun regulations on the books today - nation wide, between federal, state & local - any more won't change a damn thing. 
. 
In the '50's we had all kinds of cowboy & war movies - think John Wayne just for starters, and that only one - there were dozens more & no mass shootings. 
. 
What we have more political BS won't change - a broken society.
