I am not a big fan of such science fiction, but memory here represents the soul. Does soul live forever, that depends on each one's belief. In my opinion, my body doesn't matter, but my memory, my will and my intelligence form the ultimate myself. In that sense, I support the choice of Adamantine. However, chained by the material world, if without biological existence, can we recognize each other? If cyber space keeps its pace of growth, will we ever treasure the real world any less?
The story raises questions to me, but I am glad that I have all the senses and through my senses, I process my thoughts and emotions, more importantly, I can express myself a lot through physical way. The real pleasure to a human, ultimately associated with physical existence. After all, the realm on earth is all about material. Our souls will go on but what the body can stimulate us and enrich us, will not.
