naysayer

這個詞在英語裏很接近於“杠精”的含義，英語的解釋為：one who denies, refuses, opposes, or is skeptical or cynical about something，即指那些說某事成不了、經常否定、拒絕或者反對一些事情的人。

There are always naysayers who say it can't be done.

總有持反對意見的人說這是不可能的。

 

troll

troll的原意是指北歐神話中的穴居巨怪，後來用來代指在網絡上發挑釁信息的人。

維基百科中的解釋為：someone who leaves an intentionally annoying or offensive message on the internet, in order to upset someone or to get attention or cause trouble（故意在互聯網上留下攻擊性的信息，以使某人不快或引起注意或造成麻煩的人）。

這個人對我的視頻發表了非常無禮的評論，我認為他隻是想被注意，但我沒有理會他。

 

杠精的本質就是挑釁，反駁，喜好爭辯，於是英語裏這些詞都可以用來形容“抬杠”的行為：

 

contrarian

背道而馳者

He is by nature a contrarian.

他本質上就是個叛逆的人。

 

argumentative

好辯的；辯論的；爭辯的

You're in an argumentative mood today!

你今天的勁頭就是找人吵架的！

 

choosy

好挑剔的

I'm very choosy about my clothes.

我對自己的衣著很講究。

 

fastidious

adj. 挑剔的；苛求的，難取悅的；（微生物等）需要複雜營養地

Everything was planned in fastidious detail.

樣樣都一絲不苟地計劃好了。

 

picky

挑剔的；吹毛求疵的

Don't be so picky.

不要那麽挑剔

 

nit-picky

挑剔的

在任何情況下，這都是一位尖酸刻薄的人。

 

finicky
