-It may take a couple of years for you to get your US citizenship. If your parents plan to continue stay in US until you get your US citizenship to sponsor their green card application, they may not need to extend their B2 status because it is difficult for them to apply for the B2 extension again and again for a few years and their overstay does not affect their green card approval.
But if they want to go back to China before you get your US citizenship (sometimes they may feel boring to stay in US too long), they had better apply for the B2 extension.
