綠卡，家人在美工作，住房自有，每年去中國4-5次，每次離美一到兩個月，以前一直都順利。最近入關被問去中國目的，如實回答短期工作，然後被叫去辦公室問了一些問題後放行，但被建議申請re-entry或SB-1簽證。我的問題是：離開的時間一般不到兩個月，而申請這兩個文件任何一個都可能需要三個月，是否必須需要申請？不申請有何後果？
-You need to apply for the reentry permit because you go back and forth between US and China too often. Otherwise, your green card may be taken away.  Please note that the green card is for you to live in US permanently, not just use it as entry-exit card.
