Here are JUST my comments.

if appeal, it will take ~ 1 year to get result. this will save some money, but need to take a risk. if you re-apply again, it will cost you several thousand dallors more, but I think it will get results faster.

For appeal, you must demonstrate that your achievement is significantly greater than ordinary level basis. if your support letters can prove this, appeal is ok because this is the major concern of USCIS for your case. I am not sure if the papers to be published in near future can be accounted as evidence when judging your case by APEAL officer.

I did appeal for my NIW case denied by NSC, won after 1 year of process.
