We purchased, through Priceline, a family room with maximum occupancy of 5 (one king bed and one triple bunk bed) at Crown Paradise Club in Cancun, Mexico. We have three kids, with the oldest a teenager. We paid extra $50 because we were informed by the hotel that the cost of an extra child is $50 (we informed the representative the ages of my children). However, when checking in, we were told that we need to pay for the cost of an extra adult because my oldest is a teenager, the reason being the $50 we paid was for the room upgrade and does not include the cost of an extra person. This is something we never heard of. We were asked to pay an extra $150/night on top of the $50/night we already paid. This would have been more than if we had booked two standard rooms (each at $160/night). We do not think this is fair but they insisted that this is their policy/rate. The management locked us out today, though they finally let us in after negotiation. We urgently need your help/advice on how to deal with this! Can we simply walk out? Thank you in advance!!
