我有個朋友2006年開始在新加坡上本科

2009年拿J1 簽證做交換生來加州學習半年


2012年8月 來美國上碩士

2014年8月找到工作，現在要辦H1B

H1B申請裏有一條
Has any beneficiary in this petition ever been a J-1 exchange visitor or J-2 dependent of a J-1 exchange visitor?


1） 這個應該是Yes，還是No.呢？
-Say "Yes".

2） 如果是Yes，是不是必須要obtain waiver呢？
-Depends on whether his J-1 needs J-1 waiver. Some J-1 does not need waiver, such as short term J-1 (i.e. no more than 6 months). So, he needs to check whether his J-1 needs waiver.

3） 如果要waiver，那應該怎麽申請處理呢？
-It will take a longer time for J-1 waiver. See this website:
