Help needed for Buying Ford Mustang

Hi,
My son is in college now. He is considering to buy a 2004 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe.The car is sale for $8,999 and with milage 50,862.The car had 2 previous owners, each held 2.5 years. The Dealer got this car from AUCTION.
Now they put it on sale. Carfax info looks fine(dealer provides free carfax info for all their listed cars). I have no idea about Mustang. Is this price too high? Will be a lot problems for this age of Mustang? Is car insurance much higher than that of same age of Honda accord? I know there are lots of car experts here. I appreciate all opinions.
