EB3 I-140 experience letter question -- pijiang, 86..., xiaobait

EB3 labor reqires 2 years of certain experience.

I had that experience when working for an university lab,  while I was on graduate research assistantship.  Can I ask my professor to write experience letter?   Or it has to be industrial experience letter?
