8老師,
This is a question related to the above questions. I am currently working on OPT which ends in next March. I will have to stop working from next March. The company is nice enough to help me do the PERM (they published job advertisments and submitted documents to labor certification) but I was told that there might be a gap for the employment.
I would like to know how big the gap is. From my understanding, even if I have everything ready, I would still need to wait for the "date for filing immigration" which currenlty is around 2012/2013. So that means I would have to be unempolyment for about 2 - 3 years before I can file for immigraiton? Will this affect my filing if I have such a long peroid of unemployment? Can I live in another country before the filing the immigration and will there be adverse effects if I don't stay in US?
Thank you very much,
Sincerely,
Leo
