You gave her undue power over you, because

 

you needed to be valued by someone.  She sensed your need.  The "outsourcing" episode was her way of devaluing you, a typical game played by narcissists.

Going to the office is to get that paycheck.  If you need more than that, you make yourself weak and vulnerable.  You should look into your own life to find out what is missing.  Or, it's a reflex left over from childhood to long for approval.

You never win by fighting with a narcissist, because she has little to offer.  Having found a new job should give you a fresh start, if you go in with a new mind set.

You cannot change her.  But you can change your self.
