Assuming you need to stay for whatever reason

 

Focus on what you have to do.  Leave the ethnicity out of your mind.  Don't let it explain anything, which will only sap your energy and distract you from the issue, besides that people do get gut feelings.

There may be other reasons for your predicament.  But this one is under your control (not an easy one for sure.)

You'll feel much lighter this way.
