My cousin in Beijing  is doing better than all the people you mentioned.  He has his own small business with annual income in millions and he made it through his hard work. 

He has been planning for EB-5 (investment immigration) for sometime.  His son is in a private high school in US already.

His only problem is he has to run his business in China, and he doesn't want to give it all up by moving to US.
