Difference of the treads between old/new tires? Use DT:

I understand that it is meant to save money by changing only 1?

However, if you got tires from Discount Tires.... they can credit you the old tires (based on the treads left). Also if you buy the "certificate/insurance" from them, if one tire got nails - they will cover it by warranty...
