There's really no need to have bookstores anymore. I have a Kobo Ereader and a membership. Borrowing books from there is free and with unlimited time.
I've never bought new paperback books from bookstores, only a few vintage books and magazines from eBay. It's much easier to find textbooks, recipes, past magazines on eBay and Thriftbooks***.
There's only one independent bookstore in our city and I never go there. It's a waste of time and money searching for books from a bookstore.
I can't believe Chinese are still going to bookstores!
