The first impression of Barcelona was great, simply because of Heve, whom I met on the bus in Coventry; however, I didn't speak to him until at the Barcelona airport. To show how organised person I am, I didn't even have Euros on me!!! Heve, very kindly, helped me to exchange some money, and offered a lift to the hostel where I was staying. Barcelona, here I come!

Then the week in Barcelona passed, should I say it was swift or slow, as I don't even know whether or not I have enjoyed the time there. I was quite amazed by the colours of Barcelona, the imagination, the designs, and the arty genes in them. In a word, people are full of fun there. But the city itself, I can only say, it is a city, and I'm not a city lover. I was as if walked into a building forest. I didn't do much in those few days. I was soon completely convinced that it was a total failure to make this trip, at Christmas time. I have never seen so many people in my life, even when I was in China. There seemed people in every single corner. No matter which direction I turn, all I could see was just people.

Because of the fullness of people, they covered the beauty of city. I was no longer motivated to go to see the famous Gaudi attractions, there was no doubt full of tourists. Then I was fed up being in the human waves, I threw myself into those little dark narrow back streets, and I discovered all kinds of little interesting shops there. I heard languages that I would never understand, I ate food that I didn’t even know what it was, and I didn't know where I was going to next, however, I found it fascinating, more than tourism. Even when I was lost in those little streets, I didn't regret, because lost, to me, is a precious experience in somewhere I don't know.

And so in this sunny day, when I was wandering by the sea, I felt like to have an ice-cream. So I did have one. I was sitting in a little square which built upon the sea. and I saw cheerful children everywhere, they were shouting, running after each other, making big noises, and they were happy; I saw families rushing into the shopping centre, Christmas shopping, no doubt; I saw an old couple sitting very closely on a bench, reading books, under the sun; but most of all, I saw those sailing boats, they were so quiet, well, of course.

And so...I would definitely choose a time that is not Christmas, to come back again, umm, maybe for shopping.
