Does diet affect male reproduction system and female PMS?

(2007-01-19 06:26:10) 下一個

Yesterday i watched a really interesting health related TV program. It was a research conducted in the UK, with the collaboration with Sheffield University and the University of Bristol. Basically the main topic were regarding to how to improve the sperm quality/quantity and also calming down the emotional swing among women during their PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome) by diet.

I was surprised by the results shown from the survey. To summarise:

1. In order to improve sperm quality, guys need a lot of fruits and vege in their diets. It has been shown in the research that the quality of sperm has proved to be better with stronger, healthier and better 'swimmer' by taking in lots of Vitamin C. However, it does not improve the quantity of sperm generated. Well, i personally think that this may not be crucial. haha.

For those who are married, this is just something nice to share with you guys so that u guys can go ahead 'experimenting' haha. And dont forget to give me some feedback when u guys have some new findings huh.

2. To overcome the emotional swing among women during PMS, we could have a try of foods which is rich in calcium, eg. dairy food (milk, cheese etc). However, in order to help the absorption of calcium,  we need vitamin E. Thus, oily fish which contains of lots of vitamin E (as listed in the table below) might be of great help.
