Live from Ukraine ????????
Dytiatkivska Throughout the night, yesterday, the Russian Federation continued to strike civilian targets in Ukraine, launching over 380 drones and 35 other missiles of various types against a series of energy infrastructures in several regions, particularly those related to gas transportation.
The main directions of attack were the oblasts of Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, Poltava, and Sumy. The impacts of the 94 Russian air targets that escaped anti-aircraft fire reveal thatMoscow adapted trajectories, launch dynamics, and likely even the actual hardware of those launchers to evade Ukrainian defenses with evasive maneuvers.
None of the seven Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched by the Russians were shot down. Nearly half of the Iskander-K cruise missiles and one out of four Shahed/Geran/Gerbera drones launched by the Russians hit about fifteen Ukrainian locations. Debris falling on six others indicatesa coordinated attack involving decoy drones and missiles that can abruptly change course after following a standard trajectory. This is terrible news, especially now thatUkraine is facing increasingly slow deliveries of the only interceptors Patriot and Samp/T capable of stopping Russian ballistic threats.
Due to these attacks, now increasingly carried out in broad daylight and against civilian targets such as schools and hospitals, in addition to those mentioned yesterday on these pages, otherschools in various regions of Ukraine have switched to distance learning. The Russian Air Force has adjusted its attack methods but has not changed its targeting.
In Poltava, for example, yesterdayeven the Church of St. Nicholas of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was targeted, destroying five of its bays.
To counter increasingly severe attacks, including those using FPV drones and artillery, the curfew in Donetsk oblast has been extended from 3:00 PM to 11:00 AMacross all settlements in the Siverska, Soledarska, Toretska, Lymanska, Druzhkivska, Illinivska, Kostyantynivska, Pokrovska, Hrodivska, Myrnogradska, Udachnenska, and Shakhivska hromadas. This ordinance, now in effect, expands the so-called komendanstska hodyna byrequiring residents to stay barricaded in their homes for 18 hours each day a necessary measure asthe Russians are attacking with unprecedented ferocity and across the board, targeting both civilians and military locations.
Yesterday alone,615 artillery shells were fired at 17 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, trying to open a new front to compensate for the failures in each of those Donbas districts.
Not far away, the Ukrainian General Staff has evidence that they are attempting to dangerously connect the six reactors of the Enerhodar nuclear power plant to the Russian power grid. They have been held hostage for three years and have been cooling them for the past eleven days with diesel generators that have a limited autonomy of just one more week. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andryi Sybiha reported that the Russians intentionally shut down the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant for this very purpose and are now trying to restart its reactors to display Putins control of the area, despite promising the IAEA they would not do so.
This is essentially another military maneuver, which, after the blackout at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, shows how every step taken by the Russian Federation represents a mortal risk and the beginning of a path to disaster Sybiha observed.
This eleventh episode since the start of the war is no coincidence, but rather evidence thatPutin has no qualmsabout using nuclear security as a weapon.
This is a further, dangerous escalation of the shift already undertaken by the Russians to weaken Ukrainian defenses, leavingthe weak point of energy security exposed to strategic consequences that impact all of Europe.
