You gave me life

When I thought about ending my life

To give this life to me

You lost Your life on Calvary

 

You gave me care

When I thought nobody cared about me

To give this care to me

You reached out with scarred hands

 

You gave me love

When I was tortured by hatred and bitterness

To give this love to me

You bled and died on the cross

 

You gave me light

When I could only see darkness in this world

To give this light to me

You left the Father of lights

 

When You gave me everything

You asked for nothing from me

When You held out Your hands

I had nothing on my empty palms

Lord please take all I am

Since this is the only thing I can give You

And I know You will make ashes beautiful
