今天的 March for Our Lives 在美國各地搞的聲勢浩大， 主題叫做 "call for an end to gun violence"， 僅僅華盛頓特區就有50萬人參加。上個月佛羅裏達校園槍擊的幸存者紛紛上來發表了激情有力的演講， 很多名人如George Clooney等也到場表示支持， 馬丁路德金的9歲孫女也表示 "I have a dream that enough is enough. And that this should be a gun-free world, period."
The message is clear: Gun violence is a serious issue and we have to end it.
要傳達的消息很明確：槍支暴力是個很嚴重的問題，我們必須停止它
But how? 但是怎麽做呢？
As long as there are guns, there will be gun violence. This is the cost of owning guns. And as long as the 2nd amendment stands, americans will own guns. I haven't heard much call to repeal 2A yet.
有槍就會有槍支暴力。這是擁槍的代價。隻要憲法第二修正案還在，美國人民就會擁槍。我還沒看到大規模要取消憲法第二修正案的呼聲。
So, what the demostrators really wanted is less gun, or more strict gun control.
所以，這些遊行的人想要的不是沒槍， 而是少槍，更嚴格的控製槍支。
But does strict gun control really reduce gun violence? Just check the cities with strongest gun control laws like Chicago and Baltimore. Empirical evidence unambiguously shows that they don't work. And there is no evidence that even more strict gun control law would reduce the gun violence.
但是嚴格控槍到底有沒有用呢？看看美國幾個槍支管理最嚴格的城市，比如芝加哥，巴爾的摩。事實證明嚴格的控槍法案毫無作用。而且我們也沒看到證據表明更嚴格的法案就有作用。
So should we just sit around and let these terrible school shootings continue and let our kids die?
那我們是不是就啥也不做，眼睜睜看著校園槍擊繼續下去呢？
Of cause not.
While it is not effective to reduce gun violence by controlling guns, some other measures can be taken:
雖然控槍不管用，我們可以采取其他的方法。
Short term: put more securities at campus, arm the teachers etc. But don't legislate at federal and state level. Let the local government chooose the appropriate measures and decide how much they are willing/able to spend on them.
短期來看：我們可以在校園裏安排更多保安，武裝老師 等等。 但是不要在聯邦和州這個級別來立法。讓當地的政府決定應該采取什麽手段和花銷。
Long term: Americans always had guns but gun violence only gets worse in recent years. I believe that this is partly because our society increasingly shifts from individual responsibility to social responsility. Many of our social policies and programs in the last few decades have generated a populace with more irresponsible people. Killing innocent school kids is just a sympton of such reality. We should reverse this trend and adapt policies to produce more responsible citizens. And that is the real solutions to gun violence and many other issues of our time.
長期來看：美國人從來都擁槍，但是槍支暴力的事情是最近才愈演愈烈。我相信很大部分原因是美國把責任越來越多的從個人身上轉移到社會身上。過去幾十年的很多政策是的我們現在的人口中有很多很沒有責任心的人。跑到學校裏殺無辜學生不過是一種表現。我們必須改變這種趨勢，采取不同的政策，產生一個更高質量的更有責任心的人口組成。這才是解決槍支暴力和很多其他的社會問題的根本方案。
