A Sonnet
Easter Break
You grant me an Easter break for
Following the winter's trace comes this bleak season.
The world is in a dark war
Against the invisible and the reason
Not on a mask is for the sake of freedom.
The winter is too cold , the sun needs
To be here for the sly bug's doom
And the germination of the life seeds.
But expect not the break to be long
For the spring is already coming along.
When the warm sun thaws the freeze
And the happy robins chirp in the Easter breeze,
When the daffodils dance in their gold reveries
I will be back to bring you sweet cherries.
