女兒所在學區三年級開始設天才班。不是真正的分班，隻是被選中的孩子每周在一起上一堂課，大部分時間是用來做項目之類的，也參加些超出一般孩子水準的競賽。天才班有名額限製，隻能取學生總數的3-5%，必須是IQ在125以上，成績優秀，再加上老師推薦。這一過程每年來一次，所以天才班的成員也是每年變化的。
（我這裏，一是為說話方便，二是把 Gifted Class 直譯，就稱為天才班了，不是說這些孩子就都是天才，請讀博的朋友不要誤會。）
天才班第一次上課時，老師給了一些材料。其中一份是把聰明孩子與天才孩子做個比較，我覺得挺有意思，也頗受啟發，就收藏了。下麵是英文原文和中文翻譯。
