On a half-shaded street
On a half-shaded street
sunlight draws a line on the pebble stones
Waiting for the green crossing light
YOU on the south end in the shadow
ME on the north end in the light
Impatiently, our eyes scan the street
Silently, out eyes gaze and greet
where light and shadow meet
in the street that's shallow and hollow
As our prayer is granted, the crossing light turns green
