天朝玉介紹一首外國詩 （3 ）秋日 Herbsttag - Rainer Maria Rilke 

萊納·瑪利亞·裏爾克（Rainer Maria Rilke，1875年12月4日－1926年12月29日）是一位重要的德語詩人，他一生寫了二千五百首詩，後期有兩首長詩《杜伊諾哀歌》和《獻給奧爾甫斯十四行》，他的詩對19世紀末的詩歌裁體和風格以及歐洲頹廢派文學都有深厚的影響，也影響了我國40年代相當多的詩人。他是詩歌界的哲學家,他孤獨、敏感、崇尚愛和美。一生充滿浪漫主義色彩,要麽四海漂泊天地為家,要麽隱居於鄉間的城堡埋頭創作。一生也承受了太多的病痛與絕望，詩歌中有各種痛苦的、絕望的和死亡的情緒, 但是充滿了對生命的渴望。年長他15歲的聰明異常的莎樂美是裏爾克最為重要的良師益友，情人。他們的關係被心理學家弗洛伊德標為“俄狄浦斯情結”。

Jour d’automne

Seigneur : il est temps. L’été fut très grand.

Étend tes ombres sur les heures de soleil,

et sur les guérets, délivre les vents.

Donne-leur encore deux jours façon sud

Tire-les jusqu’à la plénitude et traque

Les dernières douceurs dans les vins lourds

 

Qui lors n’a de demeure, ne s’en bâtira plus

English Translation 1 — 

Autumn Day

Lord: it is time. Summer has been very large.

Lay your shadow on the sundials

and let the winds loose on the open fields.

 

Command the last fruits to be full;

give them two more southernly days,

urge them towards completion and send

the last sweetness into the heavy wine.

 

Who has no house now will not build one anymore.

Who is alone now will be so for a long time,

will stay awake, read, write long letters

and will wander restlessly through the avenues,

back and forth, as the leaves are drifting.

Autumn Day

Lord: it is time. Summer was grown quite great.

Lay your shadow on the sundials,

and in the farmlands let loose the winds.

 

Command the last fruits to fullness;

give them another two days more southerly,

press them on to their perfect end and hound

the last sweetness into the grapes that weight the vine.

 

Who still has no house won't build one now.

Who still is alone will now stay long so,

sit late nights, read, write long letters

and then, up and down the tree-lined streets,

roam restlessly, when the leaves swirl.

《秋日》

主嗬，是時候了。夏天盛極一時，

把你的陰影置於日晷上，

讓風吹過牧場。

讓枝頭最後的果實飽滿；

再給兩天南方的好天氣，

催它們成熟，把

最後的甘甜壓進濃酒。

誰此時沒有房子，就不必建造，

《秋日》是1902 年9 月21 日在巴黎寫的，那年裏爾克年僅二十七歲。

正是這首詩，讓我猶豫再三，還是把裏爾克放進二十世紀最偉大的詩人的行列。一個詩人往往就靠那麽幾首好詩，數量並不重要。裏爾克一生寫了二千五百首詩，在我看來多是平庸之作，甚至連他後期的兩首長詩《杜伊諾哀歌》和《獻給奧爾甫斯十四行》也被西方世界捧得太高了。正是《秋日》這首詩，使裏爾克成為二十世紀最偉大的詩人之一。
