西門慶多日腰酸腿疼，頭沉沒勁。看了燈市後，再戰王六兒， 晚酩酊大醉回家倒在金蓮屋裏。金蓮饑渴如狼，吃一丸胡僧藥， 把剩餘三丸，就燒酒全送到丈夫口中。不料魔藥凶猛，如火山爆發，頓時西門慶白漿噴紅漿湧，一瀉千裏昏死過去。數日請醫求神問卜，無奈酒色無度， 腎水早枯. 西門慶亡年33。

正妻月娘喪偶之時正是生兒之刻，二妻李嬌兒趁機箱子大開偷走大洋，夥計們也分贓柺財。 西門慶臨終前還資產倒背如流：三綢布店， 一藥鋪，船貨，貸款共六萬銀子有餘。 Ximen has been weak for days.
