Thesis Statement:

    "Although God’s Ways Are Beyond Our 

    Comprehension, The Psalm Reveal That 

    We Must Follow God In Faith, Obedi-

    ence And Praise." 

Because:

Proposition:

The authors of the Psalms believed God reigned.

2. Psalms record a wide span of personal experience, both indi-

   vidually and as a nation.  They reveal god’s character 

   through God’s names.

3. Psalms are an artistic literary works, using symbolic langu-

   age

4. Psalms are full of praise to God.

5. Various moods in Psalms are real and legitimate.

 

6. Psalms reveal God differently from Greek Literature.

7. David a shepherd of sheep become shepherd of Israel.

Ps. 2 – God Rule(over individuals and nations).

Ps. 10 – God Hides (delaying judgement of the wicked).

Ps. 16 – God is Sufficient (so we need to be content).

Ps. 23 – God Cares (providing for His people).

Ps. 27 – God Speaks (displaying His power).

Ps. 29 – God Laughs (at the threats of evildoers).

Ps. 38 – God Chastens (His people for repentance).

Ps. 46 - God Secures (us from annihilation).

Ps. 51 – God pardons (the repentant sinners).

Ps. 55 – God Supports (us through our trials).

Ps. 103 – God Surpasses (our human limitations).

Ps. 107 – God Rescues (the lost, captive, sick and helpless).

Ps. 116 – God Answers (us when we pray, but not always says “yes”).

 

Ps. 118 – God Vindicates (our obedience to Him).

Ps. 119 – God Unified (God guides us through His Law).

Ps. 121 – God Guards (us from danger).

Ps. 124 – God Intervenes (on behalf of the weak and oppressed).

Ps. 131 – God Calms (our anxiety when we rely on Him).

Ps. 136 – God Works (in creation, providence and redemption).

Ps. 139 – God Pursues (us when we stray from Him).

Ps. 147 – God Acts (in the present, not just in the psat).
