Retail is outsourcing tech still at this point. This will change as tech investment becomes more of a focus rather than ancillary part of biz
Retailers will be creating tech jobs within the retail industry. And support jobs like photographing items, design, order mgmt + delivery.
Long way to go still. But retail is in the early stages of a complete change in the traditional model.
If manufacturing moves back to the US retailers will also make investment in manufacturing. Investments in controlling the supply chain. $$
In other words, jobs lost in traditional brick and mortar will grow in other parts of the newly created part of the business.
And these are jobs for any American, not just those with skills in tech. Designers, sewers, textiles, logistics, customer service.
Jobs shift. Innovations create new opportunities we can never imagine. As they always have. Otherwise, we'd all still be farming.
Even robotics. We will not be staying home with nothing to do.20 years ago we could not even imagine the world that exists today. #cellphones
