It’s raining red divas this December what with the regal colour emerging a hot favourite among stylists for the year-end fashion magazine covers, and we’re not really complaining. Both Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma turned up the heat this winter with their cover photo shoots, wearing red, off-shoulder gowns showing a slight décolletage.
Now, we’ve always loved red on Deepika Padukone, and this look yet again reaffirms our love for the combo. She looks ravishing in the stunning strapless gown by Bibhu Mohapatra, paired with dissimilar Louis Vuitton earrings with her hair done up in a messy bun. The make-up is minimalist and the overall look is quite refreshing. This comes right after the extremely sultry look for Hello magazine’s cover shoot this month.
Padukone is currently riding high on a series of fashion perfect moments, both in India and abroad. Her Monisha Jaising military green gown for the MTV EMAs may have got her the title of Bollywood Blunder by one publication, but the rest of the fashion fraternity simply loved the look, and not to mention her emergence as the Indian version of Angelina Jolie’s ‘the leg’ stance. From her look at the EMAs to the lilac gown by Ralph and Russo at another awards show in Mumbai. Continuing the streak is this red-hot look for a wintery December.
On the other side, we have Ae Dil Jai Mushkil’s Anushka Sharma, whose 2014 shoot with the same fashion magazine had us gaping in amazement for carrying off a bold and riqué avatar with aplomb. In this shoot, Sharma dons this uber sensuous red off-shoulder gown with a thigh-high slit, and we absolutely love this bold look on her.
Akin to Padukone’s make-up, even Sharma’s stylist opted for a minimalist look with nude lips, slightly messy hair – letting that luxurious dress do much of the talking.
