Catwalk of the future! Top model to mix haute couture, thousands of mirrors, a 100-metre runway and DRONES... at the world's first solar-powered fashion show

A model and entrepreneur known for her daring and theatrical fashion shows will make history this summer by introducing the world's first solar-powered runway show.

Jessica Minh Anh, who is based in Paris, will host her latest fashion spectacle, dubbed the J Summer Fashion Show, at Gemasolar, a futuristic solar power plant in Seville, Spain, which will house a 100-metre catwalk, on July 17.

The show will be staged right in the centre of Gemasolar, against the cinematic backdrop of its famous central tower, surrounded by thousands of high-shine mirrors.

Jessica's show, which she will also star in, will be filmed from various angles, using flying drones to highlight the sunlight’s effect on the stunning circle-shaped power plant.

Gemasolar - the first plant in the world to create a system of its kind which produces 24-hour-a-day electricity using only the power of the sun - has previously served as the backdrop for campaigns from Louis Vuitton, Mercedes Benz and Ford, but has never been the setting of a fashion show.

Plant manager Raul Mendoza Ruiz said: 'Gemasolar is an international symbol of the next generation of power plants and represents the future, just as Jessica does in fashion.

'We look forward to fascinating the world with a mixture of high technology and high fashion in this particular project.'

The J Summer Fashion Show will showcase a combination of haute couture and high-end ready-to-wear collections from over 15 countries across five continents, according to its organizers.

'The carefully selected fashion houses embrace tradition and culture whilst experimenting with innovative techniques of modern design,' they state.

Jessica and her troupe of models will have to negotiate the Spanish summer heat as they strut in extravagant designs across the space age location in the middle of the dry landscape.

But of the location, Jessica, an IT graduate, said: 'Gemasolar took my breath away. It represents a rare modern beauty, which sees the best of designs and sustainability efforts in one place.

'I would consider this show my most challenging yet exciting project so far.'

And that is saying something.

Jessica is now celebrating her tenth year of hosting shows in unusual and dramatic locations around the world; from France's Eiffel Tower and New York's Hudson River to the Grand Canyon and London's Tower Bridge.

Speaking to Marie Claire Brazil recently about her humble beginnings in the world of fashion, she claimed to have worked 'non-stop' to prove: 'You do not have to be privileged to find your place in the world.'

In January 2013, her company J Model Management partnered with the luxurious cruise line, Costa Crociere, to host the world’s first sundeck catwalk on the Costa Atlantica, a floating museum of contemporary Italian art, with Dubai’s skyline as a backdrop.

Her website says: 'It was a perfect combination of European elegant taste, Asian charm, American diverse culture, and Arabic high society lifestyle.'

The hallmark of the fashion show producer's events are their breathtaking settings. In November 2013, she arranged a show on the Grand Canyon Skywalk in Arizona at 4,000 feet above the Colorado River.

In October 2011, she turned Tower Bridge's 61-metre walkway into a catwalk with glamorous designs being sashayed 44-metres above the Thames.
