CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Juan Perez hasnt gotten many at-bats in the majors. Buccaneers #27 Jersey . He didnt need a whole lot of experience to know what was coming this time. Left-hander Tony Cingrani was going to throw a first-pitch fastball. The young outfielder got it and hit it out. Perez and Michael Morse homered with two outs in the sixth inning on Wednesday night, rallying the San Francisco Giants to a 3-2 victory that ended the Cincinnati Reds longest winning streak of the season at four games. San Francisco won for the 10th time in 13 games, improving the best record in the majors to 38-21. Morse hit a solo shot and Perez had a two-run homer off Cingrani (2-6), who has lost all of his four starts since returning from shoulder tendinitis. Cingrani relies on his fastball -- he threw it 81.7 per cent of the time last season, second-most in the majors -- and threw one to Perez to start the game-changing at-bat. Perez, making only his fourth start this season, was ready to swing. "I was looking for a fastball in and I got a fastball down the middle," Perez said. Perez is in his second stint with the Giants this season. He was only 1 for 21 heading into the game on Wednesday, struggling to adapt to his limited playing time. "Hes probably had the toughest job of anybody since hes been here because he doesnt get many starts," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Their guy shut us down. Hes got a good, live fastball. He was throwing very well. So Perez came through for us." Ryan Vogelsong (4-2) extended his recent streak of solid pitching by giving up two runs and seven hits in 6 1-3 innings while fanning a career-high nine. The right-hander is 3-0 with a 2.05 ERA in last four starts. "I just really kept doing what I was doing," Vogelsong said. "I felt the stuff was there, I just need to keep making pitches." It was a rare win in Cincinnati for the Giants, who had lost 11 of their last 12 at Great American Ball Park during the regular season. San Francisco won all three there while taking the division playoff series in 2012. Vogelsong gave up Todd Fraziers team-leading 11th homer in the third inning, a ball that hit the screen on the left field foul pole. Jay Bruce added a run-scoring double, his third RBI in the last two games. Bruce came into the series with no RBIs since April 25. Sergio Romo pitched the ninth for his 18th save in 20 chances. He had allowed a run in each of his last three outings. Billy Hamilton had three singles off Vogelsong, matching his career high. It was his sixth three-hit game. Cingrani has been trying to get back into form after being on the disabled list for 17 days because of tenderness in the left shoulder. His velocity has been inconsistent -- the left-hander throws mostly fastballs -- while hes gone 0-4 with a 5.16 ERA in his four starts. With Cingrani trying to hold a 2-0 lead with two outs in the sixth, Morse hit his team-leading 12th homer on the first pitch. Cingrani gave up a single by Brandon Hicks, and Perez hit his first homer of the season and the second of his career for a 3-2 lead. It was only the fourth time in 28 career starts that Cingrani allowed more than one homer. Hamilton ran the Giants to distraction again, but this time they prevented him from scoring. Hamilton had two infield singles among his three hits, forced two throwing errors and was caught by catcher Buster Posey while he trying to steal third base. The Giants have seven errors in all during the two games. NOTES: LHP Madison Bumgarner (7-3) faces Mike Leake (3-4) in the final game of the series. Bumgarner is 5-0 in his last six starts, matching the longest winning streak of his career. Leake is 4-0 with a 0.92 ERA in his last four starts against the Giants. ... The Giants have scored 122 runs with two outs, the most in the majors. ... Giants OF Hunter Pence extended his hitting streak to five games. ... RHP Mat Latos made what the Reds had hoped would be his final rehab start before hes activated, but he had to leave the game for Triple-A Louisville with a cramp in his calf after only 67 pitches. Buccaneers #29 Jersey . Yet theres enough evidence to suggest Europes two heavyweight teams still have plenty of work to do. Barcelona has lost three of its last six matches in the Spanish league, giving Manchester City renewed hope the two-goal deficit may not be too much to bridge. Buccaneers #24 Jersey . Howards plan worked. He had 17 points and 10 rebounds by halftime on the way to a 26-point night to help the Rockets cruise to their third straight win, a 119-98 victory over the Kings. Howard also had 13 rebounds and four blocks and James Harden added 24 points and nine assists before the pair went to the bench for the fourth quarter.DALLAS - The Philadelphia Flyers expected an instant impact from the return of Claude Giroux, and thats exactly what they got from their top scorer. Giroux had a goal and three assists in his comeback from a four-game absence due to a concussion as the surging Flyers beat the Dallas Stars 4-1 Wednesday night. Giroux received medical clearance to play last weekend, and he was inserted into the lineup after he was able to participate in Wednesdays morning skate. "Hes clearly established himself as a top player in the league," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said. "He missed some time and wanted to get back in there. Hes capable of that. It shouldnt surprise anybody." Giroux was out since he was injured in a game against Tampa Bay on Dec. 10 when he was accidentally hit in the back of the head by teammate Wayne Simmonds knee. Giroux recorded his third four-point game of the season. The last Flyers player with at least three games of four or more points in a season was Mark Recchi, who also had three during the 2000-01 season. "Its exciting for him to play again," teammate Jaromir Jagr said. "I knew right away, first shift, he had a lot of energy." Simmonds and Jagr added power-play goals, and defenceman Andrej Meszaros connected at even strength for Philadelphia. Jagr has 657 career goals, breaking a tie with Brendan Shanahan and taking over sole possession of 11th on the all-time list. Kimmo Timonen and Scott Hartnell both had two assists, and Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves as the Flyers improved to 10-2-1 in their last 13 overall and 13-3-2 on the road this season. Michael Ryder scored in the games first minute for the Stars, who were 4-1-0 in their previous five games. From there, the Flyers dominated. "I think we just started to relax, play our game, get on the forecheck and make sure we didnt make any mistakes out there," said Giroux, who has a six-game points streak with four goals and 10 assists in that span. "I guess that guys really wanted to win this game. "I had a lot of fun just playing and was kind of in Dallas face and they were pretty much doing the same thing to us. It was a fun game and important to get those two points." Stars rookie Richard Bachman stopped 27 shots in his sixth strraight start Ryder struck 56 seconds after the opening faceoff, firing a shot from high in the left circle that beat Bobrovsky to the glove side for Ryders team-high 12th goal of the season. Carl Nicks Buccaneers Jersey. But Giroux tied it at 8:30 of the first period when he swept a loose puck into an open net for his team-best 17th goal. Simmonds put the Flyers in front for good about three minutes later, cashing in on his teams first power play with a deflection for his 10th goal of the season. Jagr got his 11th goal 29 seconds into a power play, converting Girouxs return pass at 8:00 of the second period to extend the lead to 3-1. "Jagrs kind of made a career of (scoring with the man advantage) and playing with a skilled guy like Giroux, theyre going to make you pay," Stars captain Brenden Morrow said. "We got on the wrong end of it a few times and skilled guys are going to find a way." The game was heated at times, with three misconducts and several skirmishes after whistles. In addition, there was an incident after the first period when Laviolette shoved Dallas agitator Steve Ott in the back as the teams headed to their locker rooms. Laviolette entered the tunnel while the Stars were exiting, and Ott felt Laviolette should have waited until the home team had cleared. "Its disrespect of our building, just let our team off, its not a big deal," Ott said. "He obviously thought that he has a higher power than everybody else and a little bit more arrogance. Of all the coaches in the whole NHL, thats probably the first time Ive seen that. "I would never do that if I was in Philadelphia in their building and had to walk through their lineup. Just let us go and show a little respect, thats all." Laviolette would not address the incident, saying, "We should probably keep it about the game, it was such a big win for us." NOTES: The Flyers made the second stop of a five-game trip. ... F Adam Burish returned to the Dallas lineup after missing 15 games with a broken hand. ... Forward Tomas Vincour (knee), D Philip Larsen (lower body) and D Stephane Robidas (foot) were out for the Stars. ... The teams met for the only time this season. The Flyers are 5-1-0 in their last six against the Stars. ... Bachman was 4-1 in his first five NHL starts. ' ' '
