數學競賽攻略-從女兒參加數學競賽學到的（上篇）-1

這兩三年眼睜睜地看著女兒參加了一些數學競賽，感覺我們當爹媽的一點忙都幫不上。好在女兒似乎有些天分，成績還不錯，可實在是時間緊任務急呀，倍感要是早點知道這些競賽，早一兩年動手準備，女兒的成績會好很多。在女兒參加了一係列的競賽後，我這個後知後覺的媽也總算搞明白了加拿大數學競賽是怎麽一回事，現在分享給大家，你們好早點做準備，別像我似的耽誤孩子。

競賽介紹

1． Waterloo係列
這個係列好像是盡人皆知的，因為Waterloo就是以數學/計算機著稱的。Waterloo 的競賽品種繁多，簡介如下：

 Gauss (Gr. 7 & 8)

multiple-choice questions

      60 minutes

     150 total marks

Pascal/Gr9, Cayley/Gr10 and Fermat/Gr11 Mathematics Contests

     multiple-choice questions
     
     60 minutes
   
     150 total marks

Fryer/Gr9, Galois/Gr10 and Hypatia/Gr11 Mathematics Contests

4 questions; some answer only and some full solution

75 minutes

40 total marks

Canadian Senior(Gr.11,12) and Intermediate(Gr9,10) Mathematics Contests

      9 questions; 6 are answer only and 3 are full solution

      2 hours
     
      60 total marks

Euclid Mathematics Contest for Gr12

      10 questions; some answer only and some full solution
     
      2.5 hours
   
      100 total marks

綜上，Waterloo 的競賽始於Gr7，一般來說學校都會組織學生參加。總的來說，Waterloo競賽是很接地氣的，並不是很難，並且與相應年級的數學內容結合比較緊，對數學課堂學習有幫助。需要指出的是Gr12的Euclid，這個競賽是有一些難度的，對考Waterloo大學和拿Waterloo的獎學金有幫助，如有興趣參加應做些準備。
