擬比夏日君意何？  Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
可愛溫柔君賽過；  Thou art more lovely and more temperate;
五月花蕾風狂扯， Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
夏季駐期轉如梭；And summer's lease hath all too short a date;
天眼照耀時酷熱， Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
金麵亦常暗失澤； And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
美人隨時褪美色， And every fair from fair sometime declines,
偶或宿命變強折；By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
夏顏駐你永難撤，But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
嬌美絲毫不凋落；Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
死神難誇你陰遮，Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
永恒詩句記君活：When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
既然人眨眼呼吸，So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
既然此詩人常記，
君當永生此詩裏。So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
