Jiu-jitsu vs the World

The world promises pleasure, success, and happiness; jiu-jitsu leaves

gratitude, health, and tranquility.

 

Pleasure comes from the senses, success from working hard for the boss,

happiness more fleeting than the morning dew. Joy comes from surviving,

health from sweating, and tranquility lasts till the next day.

 

It's painful, but the pains heal and mold. At about 50, I chose jiu-jitsu.
