Bike to Work

Today I decided to get back to exercise by biking to work.
Morning traffic was very light and the weather was cool. I
rode across the Dumbarton bridge, glided through the upper 
right corner of East Palo Alto, followed the Mountain View 
shore line and then the Bay Trail, and arrived at my 
workplace in the South Bay, all in 1:50min.

It has not been fun for the past two weeks. I couldn't do
anything with that painful shoulder, not even refilling my
5-gallon water bottle. Standing instead of sitting in front
of the computer doesn't help burning much more calories and
I saw my weight went all the way up to 148.4 lbs. The second
week, my sleep started to suffer. The deep and satisfying
sleeps I was used to turned into shallow slumbers. Waking
up a couple of times at night and getting up at 5:00am was
not exciting. At work, my job became demanding once my
bosses decided I was to "lead" some development effort. I
wondered if life was falling into pieces in front of my eyes.

But no. Theory says impedements to action only advance                                   
action. This is a chance to test it out. One thing seems                                 
sure at least: at the end of today, I'll have a good night's sleep.
